ABOUT US

Vision Document (Centres) (2).png

Motto: जनशक्ति राष्ट्रशक्ति / People’s power is the nation’s power

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom…”
Those historic words by Jawaharlal Nehru weren’t just a declaration of independence, they were the beginning of the world’s greatest democratic experiment. And over 75 years later, that experiment is still vibrant, evolving, and empowering a billion voices.

From the ancient janapadas and sabha-samiti traditions to the largest electoral machinery on Earth, India is truly the mother of democracy. Our civilisation has understood the strength of the people’s voice far before democracy was institutionalised in the West. India has always been a cradle of public discourse and participatory politics. Our modern post-Independent India's political journey has been shaped by powerful leaders, visionary movements, and the unstoppable will of the people. From the one-party dominance of the Congress era, the Emergency, and the birth of coalition politics, to the rise of regional aspirations and the resurgence of nationalism post-2014, our democracy has witnessed it all.

Today, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are witnessing a bold new phase of digital governance, people-first policies, and a renewed national confidence. The emergence of strong regional parties, social justice movements, and empowered citizenry has made India's political discourse more layered and dynamic than ever. With over 65% of India’s population under 35, the youth are not just voters, they are changemakers, leaders, and guardians of India’s democratic future.

In such a transformative era, the Internal Affairs and Political Research Centre stands as a vital and dynamic  vertical of The Indian Netizens. With our motto, we are rooted in the belief that true national power flows from the people. This Centre is where India’s young minds decode democracy, politics and society not from the sidelines, but from the core.

We are not just political observers. We are narrative builders, constitutional thinkers, and policy pioneers. This is the space for India’s next generation of administrators, leaders, reformers, and informed voters.

WHAT WE COVER

Vision Document (Centres) (2).png

More Than a Centre. A Movement.

At the Internal Affairs and Political Research Centre, we explore the very fabric of Indian democracy: its politics, its people, and its institutions through a rigorous, youth-led lens. Our work covers the evolution and dynamics of India’s political system, from national power shifts to regional transformations. We analyse elections, leadership changes, voter behaviour, coalition politics, ideological shifts, and the broader political discourse that shapes public life.

This Centre examines the structure and function of India’s democratic framework: Parliament, state legislatures, constitutional institutions, and the ever-evolving Centre-State relations. We decode major reforms, policy transitions, governance strategies, and the role of public administration in delivering democratic justice. The story of Indian democracy is incomplete without social justice, and so we engage deeply with issues around affirmative action, gender equity, youth empowerment, minority rights, and grassroots mobilisation.

Electoral reforms, campaign finance, digital electioneering, and civic participation form a critical area of our study. We study India’s democratic resilience, from the Emergency to the digital age, and how citizens, courts, civil society, and institutions have responded in times of democratic strain. From landmark constitutional amendments to everyday governance challenges, our research is committed to reflecting both ground realities and long-term institutional needs.

Importantly, we do not just observe. We raise questions, shape narratives, and spark dialogue around the soul of the Indian republic. With India's youth at the centre, our mission is to democratise democracy itself making it more inclusive, informed, and future-ready.
